AI-based algorithms for the diagnosis of AD Lead Investigator: Christian Salvatore Institution : Institute of Molecular Bioimaging and Physiology E-Mail : christian.salvatore@ibfm.cnr.it Proposal ID : 969 Proposal Description: My research aims are the application of artificial-intelligence techniques for the diagnosis and prognosis of Alzheimer's disease and for the extraction of surrogate biomarkers from cerebral MRIs. I will mainly focus my research activity on structural MR imaging, but I will also test the use of data obtained from different techniques (e.g. neuropsychological measures) in order to improve the classification accuracy of our algorithm. My algorithm will be based on classical machine-learning techniques, such as Support Vector Machine. I will also explore the use of state-of-the-art techniques and advanced classification algorithms, such as depp-learning classifiers. I will finally try to explore the use of different feature-extraction techniques, as well as different multilabel decision functions.
